The Banggai Cardinalfish is native to Indonesia. Its tail splits into two and extends past the mid-tail vertical line. Males incubate their eggs in the mouth cavity, which is much larger than that of females. Unfortunately, this fish is threatened with extinction due to overfishing and destroying its natural habitat.
